Top Five Throwing Knives Movie Scenes
5. Gangs of New York – Knife Throwing Scene
Bill “The Butcher” Cutting knows his way around a blade apparently. He effortlessly hangs Cameron Diaz’s coat on the target board like he was using his own hands. Anyone who can throw a knife across a stage and stick it in a coin-sized locket has a place in our top 5. We knocked him down a few because he skint her neck on that last throw. Practice makes perfect Bill!

4. The Hunger Games – Tribute Training Scene
There are a lot of awesome weapons in The Hunger Games. It’s our kind of movie! Not as great as the book in our opinion, but this isn’t a book club after all! The scene before The Hunger Games begins when the tributes are showing off their skills is the place where Clove’s knife throwing skills really shine. She hits the targets in the bullseye on almost every try. We’d hate to a knife duel with her, she’s one expert thrower for sure! Check out the scene starting about 00:23.

2. The Expendables – Stallone & Statham Fight Scene
I might have been a little bit biased on this pick because I have actually thrown the that Jason Statham’s character Lee Christmas throws in this movie. This is a real action-packed movie with a lot of great scenes, but I picked this one as the best. Probably because anyone who takes on a group of AK-47-wielding soldiers with a set of throwing knives has lost their mind. Staham and Stallone really do work in this scene to save the general’s daughter.

1. Desperado – Navajas vs. Everyone
In the sequel to Director Robert Rodriguez’s “El Mariachi,” Antonio Banderas is one heck of a gunslinger, from his guitar case machine gun, to being pretty hand with a steel, he’s a pretty tough dude at the protagonist in the 1992 film “Desperado.” But, Banderas’ character pales in comparison to Navajas, played by Danny Trejos. Not only does he have one bad-a tattoo of a hottie senorita all the way across his chest, but he also has a couple dozen throwing knives strapped under his jacket for a rainy day. He almost kills Banderas before he slaughters most of a Mexican gang wielding machine guns before somebody gets in a lucky shot or two. I guess even the best knife thrower of them all loses when your bring a knife to a gun fight?
