M48 Kommando Tanto Knife & Survival Bracelet Combo Review

The 7” fighter blade is black-coated AUS-6 stainless steel for corrosion resistance and a non-reflective appearance. The non-reflective coating makes it great for use in combat situations where a metal reflection might catch the eye of an enemy sniper and the corrosion resistance makes this knife ideal for use in swampy and moist terrain. A soldier could wear this on his side on a wade through a swamp and not have to worry about instant rust like he would have to on a non-coated stainless steel blade. The blade also offers a strong tanto point which will pierce through even the toughest materials with ease. It had no problem going through a 50-gallon metal burn drum in our testing. The blade features the M48^® logo with the etch, “The Future Looks Dim.”

A cord-wrapped handle makes it easy to grip and it slides easily into the heavy-duty nylon belt sheath. The handle cord can be unwound from the knife and used to construct a survival shelter or even a trip wire for enemy combatants. Without the cord wrapping on the handle, this knife converts into an excellent throwing knife. With this knife you’ll also receive a Paracord survival bracelet that is hand-woven from military spec, 300-lb. paracord that fastens using heavy duty plastic snap buckles.
