United Cutlery Sneak Peek
By Adelia Ladson
Every now and then, United Cutlery gives us a little sneak peek at whatâs coming out later in the year. We got just a small taste of the exceptional, ground-breaking designs that theyâll release around the holidays, this year. So, here are a couple of tasty morsels from their popular M48 and Honshu lines. Theyâre sure to make you drool!
Honshu is known for its savage blend of tradition and innovation that forges a style and function in its modern, battle-ready weapons thatâs beyond compare. This year you can expect to see the Honshu Karito Kama with a centuries old blade profile that was combat-proven during the feudal era of Japan and is just as effective today! The premium stainless steel blade is 9â of wickedly curved, razor-sharp slashing power and injection-molded nylon handle (a Honshu standard) is heavily textured and finger-grooved. When you raise the Karito Kama you wonât believe how light and easy-to-handle it is! The weight-reducing through-holes in the blade and the practically indestructible handle material is what allows it to be so lightweight. Itâs another Honshu triumph with taking an ancient weapon design and giving it a modern, tactical face-lift.
The second Honshu that will be out later this year that Iâm really excited about is the Karito Battle Axe, which takes the traditional bearded blade design that was used by Japanese carpenters and elevates it into a formidable battle weapon. The premium stainless steel, bearded axe head has a hair-shaving sharp blade, which is supported by a curved and textured handle made of the same impact-resistant injection-molded nylon as used in the Karito Kama. From tip to grip, the Karito Battle Axe is 27â long, giving you plenty of forward motion, chopping power. Canât you just picture having both Honshu Karitos â one for each hand!
When youâre trying to survive, no other brand has your back like United Cutleryâs M48 line, and it continues to offer a range of weapons and tools built for battle in the real world. This year they are releasing their Double-Headed War Hammer, which is exactly what you want to be holding in your hand when things get ugly. It has a vicious premium stainless steel double-head with a black oxide, and it features a skull crusher at its top and five penetrating points on each of its square-shaped heads. The almost indestructible handle has special grooves built-in so that paracord can be wrapped around it with relative ease. This is a valuable, tactical tool that you can take out on the mission whether at home or abroad.
When talking about tools that you can take out on a mission, thereâs no better than a good trench knife. The M48 Liberator Trench Knife assures that youâll be on the winning side, in hand-to-hand combat, with its spiked knuckle-buster handle. It also has a premium stainless steel blade thatâs got the razor-sharp edge that you can always expect from an M48 knife. The layered handle scales give you that slip-free grip that you absolutely need in the field and you can count on the fiberglass reinforced nylon construction to get you through anything. The Liberator Trench Knife slides securely into an injection molded Vortec and nylon belt sheath, which means itâs ready at your side when you need it. As always, M48 has gear to get the job done. No matter how dirty!
