Who Is United Cutlery?
Established in 1984, for more than 30 years United Cutlery has been distinguished by unique and innovative product designs that cover a wide range of knives and swords, from functional to fantasy. Early in the company’s history, a distinctive product segment was developed based on movie replica cutlery products. In 1987, United Cutlery was licensed to produce the knife from the movie Rambo, and since then, it has produced licensed products for more than 30 films. This has established them as the preeminent supplier of movie replica cutlery merchandise. Growing from a small cutlery sourcing company to the fastest growing, most creative and dynamic cutlery company in the world, United Cutlery continues to deliver the goods with sleek, modern designs that defy tradition.
What Qualifies As A Movie Collectible?
First and foremost, a movie collectible has to be officially licensed. If not, then most likely it’s a cheap imitation. Officially licensed means that the collectible is approved by the studio that made the movie it was based on. An actual movie collectible will usually come with a certificate of authentication, assuring you that it’s a legitimate reproduction that has real value.
What Movie Collectibles Does United Cutlery Have?
United Cutlery has an expansive selection of officially licensed movie collectibles that you can’t find anywhere else. Each product is a reproduction that is completely accurate to the movie or movie franchise that it came from and is crafted using only the highest quality materials. Some of United Cutlery’s most popular collectibles include knives, swords and other weapons from both “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit” movie franchises, “The Expendables” movie franchise and the “Rambo” movie franchise.
The Lord of the Rings
Any sword collector or movie prop enthusiast can tell you that some of the most coveted items are swords from the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. While it would be rather difficult to get an actual prop from the filming of the movie, United Cutlery has produced an outstanding line of officially licensed replicas from the movie, which were cast from actual filming props built by Weta Workshop. BUDK.com is the only place to find the full line of officially licensed Lord of the Rings replica weapons! While the movie props were sometimes made of resin to be lighter and easier to maneuver during filming, the United Cutlery replicas are made from solid stainless steel, making them collectibles that will last a lifetime. Each includes a premium wooden plaque for display. I’ve chosen a few of my favorites.
Anduril the Sword of King Elessar
Anduril the Sword of King Elessar of Gondor from the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, has been meticulously recreated from the prop used in the film. With close attention to detail as their top priority, United Cutlery has used only the finest grade materials and craftsmanship. Anduril was forged from the shards of the sword Narsil, carried by Aragorn, the heir to the throne of Gondor and he wielded it against the forces of Sauron, assuming the name of Elessar once the final victory was won. You can actually hold this legendary sword in your own hands and feel the heft of its massive 52 7/8” overall length. The sword has a 40 5/8” double-tempered, stainless steel blade and a leather-wrapped handle with 24K gold-plated fittings on hilt.
Helm of Eomer
Éomer was a captain of the king’s cavalry, Marshal of the Mark, and one of Rohan’s mightiest warriors, fighting alongside King Theoden against the forces of Mordor at the battle of Helm’s Deep and on the Pelennor Fields. In the final stand against the dark lord Sauron, he fought alongside Aragorn with the armies of Rohan and Gondor at the Gates of Mordor. His steel helm featured a brass horse head nose guard extending across the crest and engraved horse and sun motifs. He was recognized by his kinsmen on the battlefield by the long flowing horse tail that crested his great helm. The
Helm of Eomer is crafted of reinforced polyresin that looks like real polished steel and brass with precisely-molded details and coloring. It is lined and padded with genuine leather and flowing down from the crest of the helm is an imitation horse hair tail accent just like the one on the movie prop. There is also a leather neck guard with embossed Rohirric letters, and the helm has a leather chin strap. The replica helm is presented with a polystone and wood display, sculpted in the shape of Rohirrim neck and shoulder armor. It includes a certificate of authenticity, and each piece is individually serial numbered on a metal shield. Only 1,500 of this limited edition collectible has been made worldwide.
Illuminated Moria Staff Of Gandalf
The staff of the Wizard Gandalf the Grey was a very powerful talisman and tool with which to exercise his enormous powers. The long, wood staff had a crown of twisted root branches and runes carved into the sides. When the Fellowship of the Ring needed a light to find their way in the dark Mines of Moria, Gandalf set an illuminated magic crystal into its crown. The polyresin, replica
Illuminated Moria Staff Of Gandalf is 66” tall, featuring finely cast details and authentic hand painted coloring. A removable clear crystal replica mounts in the top and is illuminated by a removable LED light stored in the crown. The staff is presented with an Elvish styled wall display featuring the Gandalf rune. Each one is individually serial numbered and includes a certificate of authenticity.
The Hobbit
After the complete success of “The Lord of the Rings” replica weapons, United Cutlery knew that it needed to secure official licensing for “The Hobbit” replicas, too. The officially licensed collection of replica weapons from the hit film franchise “The Hobbit” are must-have collectibles for fans of the popular movie franchise. Each authentically detailed replica is an exact reproduction of the actual filming prop built by Weta Workshop of New Zealand and used in the motion pictures. Sting Sword of Bilbo Baggins

To me, this really is the must-have sword out of all the reproductions!
Rivendell Elf Helm
Hidden in a valley east of the sea was the Last Homely House, Rivendell, abode to both Sindar and Noldor Elves, and its master, Lord Elrond. Rivendell was an outpost against the rise of the dark powers of Middle-earth. It was protected by the Rivendell Guard, who were stationed at its gates and patrolled the outskirts of the valley. The high sophistication of the Elven race was evident in the armor and helm worn by the Guard. The
Rivendell Elf Helm, which has the appearance of being beaten out of a single sheet of steel, is a flowing, elegant design with a high-bladed crest adorned with Elven vines. Embossed into the nose guard is an Elven sigil representing the House of Elrond. The authentically detailed replica is a reproduction of the actual filming prop used in the motion picture, “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug”, built by Weta Workshop of New Zealand. Rambo
As the creator of some of the most widely recognized knives in the industry today, Gil Hibben’s knowledge and over 60 years of experience are unprecedented in the world of custom knife making. He was one of the first in the knife industry to have a successful licensing agreement with United Cutlery who continues to produce affordable replicas of his designs since 1988. Gil's fame dramatically increased in 1988 when Sylvester Stallone, who had purchased several of Gil's custom knives for his own collection, asked Gil to design the now famous knife used in the movie Rambo III. The knife was perfectly made for film because it was a larger than life design that is nearly the length of Stallone’s torso. Now, the Sly Stallone Shop and United Cutlery have collaborated to release the Heartstopper from Lionsgate’s “Rambo: Last Blood.”
Rambo Last Blood Heartstopper Knife
Officially licensed and authorized by Stallone, the
Rambo Last Blood Heartstopper Knife is an exact replica of the fully-functional knife that was used in the hit movie, from Sylvester Stallone’s personal knife collection. The tactical knife has a 9” blade crafted of 7Cr17, tempered stainless steel with a razor-sharp precision cutting edge. The high-quality CNC machined, linen Micarta handle scales have the exact same pattern as the knife used in the film. Separating the blade and handle is a hefty, stainless steel handguard with a non-glare tungsten carbide coating. The knife can be carried in its genuine, top-grain leather sheath with “Rambo: Last Blood” logo stamped into the leather.
The Expendables
Sly would have never survived First Blood parts I, II, or III without his bowie knife or The Expendables I, II or III either, for that matter. Stallone has been an avid collector of Gil Hibben’s custom knives, and that relationship continued when Stallone commissioned Gil to make several knives to use in his films, "The Expendables" and "Expendables 2."
