Sales Manager


Position Overview

Manage the relationships with United Cutlery customers, new sales opportunities, inventory needs and sales forecasts, and liquidation strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate sales and manage relationships with current United Cutlery partners
  • Pursue new United Cutlery sales partners which align with overall On The Edge strategies
  • Develop and execute sales strategies and new opportunities
  • Plan, setup, and attend trade shows
  • Travel to keep in good standing with key partners/attend customer shows and events as needed
  • Merchandise and forecast sales for key partners as needed and manage/communicate inventory needs to merchandising and inventory control
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels for customer needs and forecasts, and manage inventory liquidation/closeout strategies to avoid issues with aging inventory
  • Maintain customer agreements, distributor agreements and requirements, and co-op agreements. Communicate with appropriate parties and ensure adherence to customer requirements regarding order entry, labeling, shipping, invoicing, and all other customer communication
  • Manage and guide inside sales/customer service representative to ensure execution of operational strategies and provide strong communication to selling partners
  • Maintain communication with Accounting department regarding customer account standing and backorder allocation priorities

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation)
  • Strong knowledge of merchandise, inventory levels, and production/delivery schedules for communicating and presenting to selling partners
  • Data analysis skills and responsible decision-making skills
  • Strong knowledge of all aspects of United Cutlery operation
  • Highly organized
  • Ability to manage and multi-task
  • Ability to travel as needed

Education:

  • Four year college degree in Business Management, Sales/Marketing, or closely related field with a minimum 5 years business experience.
