These are soft to be able to bend for practice. If you wish them to no longer bend. Heat them to bright red hot. Then dip them into cold water till they are cold. To sharpen use either wet/dry sandpaper in the 320 to start then go up to 600 then to 1500 then to 4000 water stone wet. You may wish to sharpen them most of the way before you heat treat them. To keep them in the sheath you can sew a magnet with a hole in it then take turns in the four compass headings. Get the super strong small Neo Moly magnets Make sure they are the strongest you can find and sew them as close to the end of the holder that will keep them in the longest possible time. When I do kata's I am wearing four sets of sharpened ones. They will go clear through a 1 pine board so make sure they are in mechanical holders. I had a competitor borrow a set and was going to use a live holder for the target.

So good I bought 2 sets and I recommend these to my training partners and anyone else into shuriken jutsu. Pretty close to my japanese counter-parts good throwers can throw more than one at a time...they have there faults but the good definitely outweighs the bad if you get a discount buy 2!

Great for the price

You cant beat the price, but just like everyone else has said, the points bend easily, but easy to repair and re-sharpen. I would recommend wet/dry sandpaper in fine and ultra fine grits to repair the tips mainly to keep from grinding flat spots on them thus destroying the aerodynamics. Also, one of the three spikes I received today was about 1/2 inch shorter than the others, but it's still balanced so I dont really care. I would NOT recommend wearing this on the arm mainly because the spikes slip out very easily. At least they do in mine. Still, overall, add these to your collection and you wont be disappointed.

Priced well enough

These little guys are just fun to have around. The sheath is worth the price almost with its flexible velcro straps. However, the tips came somewhat bent (just used 2 hammers for that) and the finish doesn't last past a couple of sticks. But overall a great deal for the price of it.

I do not like these things. at first I thought I would love them. then the tip broke very quickly and i kept getting scratched. they are strong every where except the tip.

decent for the price

these spikes are actually not that bad for their price. the tip bend easily and quickly become dull, but its easy to repair. they take a little practice just to get them to fly straight when throwing them, and much more practice to actually be able to hit a target accurately. the "sheath" for them is well made, but can be uncomfortable to wear for a long time.
