S&W Power Glide Tanto Folding Knife
Reviewed By: madmax (North Port, FL)
Just purchased the knife today to add to my growing collection. Very impressed with the quality of the mechanism. I like the belt-clip holder. The blade is very sharp and made from 440 stainless steel. A very durable and unique knife to add to my collection. A good knife for the price. You won't be disappointed.

This is my first knife and I am extremely pleased and equally surprised. The knife is bigger than I expected (the handle is bigger than my hand when I'm holding it), and the blade is extremely sharp. It cuts paper like butter; if you don't buy this knife, you're losing out on allot, ALLOT of fun.

Smith & Wesson Powerglide
Reviewed By: LoganF (Binghamton, NY)
Just Bought this knife as my first purchase from BudK, the reviews here are very accurate because the knife IS a little stiff out of the box but it breaks in easily. It was a bit larger than I expected but that's a good thing, and it's made by Smith & Wesson so you know it's a quality product that will last. Very sharp out of the box and a very interesting knife to add to my growing collection. I will definitely be spending a good chunk of my next paycheck on more cool things from BudK.

Absolutely GREAT knife for the price. a little hard to break in at first but it loosens up real quick and after a while you can start opening it one handed. the mechanism looks flimsy "knife is held by 2 pieces of geared steel" but it's by far from being flimsy. i didn't like the belt clip it came with, i'm always afraid that the knife is going to fall out of it, and every time i get in my truck it does come unholstered but other than that great knife!

Totally Awesome blade
Reviewed By: Andrew Hardison (Camden, NY)
I bought this knife because I like different looking knives. I also have several S&W pieces of equipment from Guns down to tools. So I wanted to test out another one of their knives since all the others have been just outstanding. This one never failed to impress in just about every test I put it through. From being a backup screwdriver to using to pry apart some wood, This blade has won and worked well. No screws falling out, unlike my other S&Ws and never a hint at cracking. My Son loves it so much I bought him one.

OK, so I bought this knife about a month ago, and I have a few updates to my first review. One, the screws come a bit loose, and to me, that's annoying. Plus, the screws have a different kind of screwdriver and they are tiny. Second, while you are deploying the blade, like in the given pic, it is extremely wobbly. also, the blade is a tanto. (the pic has a drop point and a tanto, but the title says tanto).

SWPGBT, GREAT KNIFE BUT...
Reviewed By: DAVER. (POMPANO BEACH, FL)
WOW... THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL KNIFE. THE KNIFE IS VERY WELL BUILT JUST LIKE S&W's MAIN PRODUCTS. THE LONG KNIFE IS RAZOR SHARP AND NOT FLIMSY AT ALL. THE KNIFE IS A BIT LONG AND IS NOT WELL SUITED FOR STORAGE IN A POCKET. THIS S&W HAS A GREAT CONTOURED DESIGN AND FITS VERY SNUGLY INSIDE YOUR HAND. WITH A FIRM GRIP IT WILL NOT SLIP OR TWIST IN YOUR HAND. AS WITH ALL QUALITY KNIVES YOU MUST BREAK IN THE ACTION UNTIL IT SMOOTHLY OPENS. THE WORST PART OF THIS KNIFE IS THE VERY CHEAP HOLSTER ATTACHMENT. IT IS A P.O.S. AND BROKE THE 3RD TIME I USED IT. THE PLASTIC IS MADE WITH IS VERY THIN AND POORLY CONSTRUCTED. I PICKED UP A STRONGER ONE FOR $5 AT WALMART IN THE CELL PHONE DEPT. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT I JUST RECEIVED THE ONLY DEFECTIVE ONE FROM THE LOT. ANYWAY I AM GIVING MY REVIEW ON THE KNIFE NOT THE CLIP. IT IS STILL WORTH THE MONEY EVEN IF YOU MUST PURCHASE A BACKUP CLIP. I GIVE THE KNIFE 4 STARS. IF IT HAD A QUALITY CLIP THEN A 5 STAR RATING.

Great knife for the price but...
Reviewed By: Dollar Bill (Walla Walla, WA)
I have several S&W knives and love all of them. This one has a good weight and feels good in my hand. This is the first knife I've owned with a glider style opening and it took me a bit to get used to opening and closing it. THIS IS NOT A TACTICAL KNIFE! I say this because it's not possible to open it quickly or with a smooth one-handed operation. The pictures here on bud-k make it resemble a butterfly knife and frankly it seems misleading. THIS IS NOT A BUTTERFLY KNIFE! The power glide has a few flaws, one of which is that in the closing process there is a possibility of either pinching your finger or slicing it open. Either way it's not good. The best use for this knife is just a general use pocket or tool box knife. If you want a great tactical folder from S&W I recommend the Special Tactical model CKTACB. With the thumb stud I can open this one so fast it rivals my genuine Italian Stiletto Switchblade!

i like this knife. but it has flaws. the scales and the lock are plastic. the knife is flat on the side that doesn't have the logo. the clip is cool, but it can fall off during use. it has no way of protecting your hand if you are stabbing something. you may cut yourself pretty bad. my blade scrapes along the screw once in a while when i open it. it is a cool knife that everyone wants to play with once they see it. its good for 10 dollars... but i have to judge it harshly so everyone knows the facts. buy one, they're cool.

The blade itself is decent, but the screws aren't that great. A few times opening and closing the knife and the casing comes loose. Not careful and the screw pops out, exposing the bare gears. It could be made better. Just a bit of tightening every so often fixes the problem right up though.

First week of ownership went great. What a cool looking knife. Worked very well, then the flaw showed up. The triangle shaped plastic that holds the sides needs to be metal. The screws snapped through the plastic. Now the knife is unusable sitting in a drawer waiting for me to modify it in such a way where I can use it again. This knife is cool don't get me wrong, but the line "you get what you pay for" applys to this knife.
